Visiting Hours & Policies

The following guidelines are required to be followed as per our Visitor Policy:

  • No more than two visitors are to be permitted at a time in a patient’s room.
  • We ask those who may have a contagious illness or have had known exposure to a communicable disease (i.e. COVID-19) to not visit patients at the hospital.
  • Eating and drinking are not permitted by visitors in a patient’s room.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our patients, staff, physicians, and visitors safe.

24/7 Visiting Hours Permitted

Stevenson Memorial Hospital has a 24/7 visiting hour operation.

Stevenson Memorial Hospital is currently a mask-friendly environment, where facial masks are recommended but optional. Visitors must wash their hands before entering and after leaving a patient’s room. We ask visitors to not enter the hospital if experiencing respiratory symptoms (i.e.: COVID-19) or are high-risk (i.e. contact with a confirmed case). Hospitalized patients are often immunocompromised and visitors must be diligent in protecting their own family and friends as well as the other neighboring patients

Partnering with Patients and Families

Stevenson Memorial Hospital is committed to partnering with patients and families to provide compassionate, high-quality care. We believe it is important for patients to experience the support of family and to be treated as individuals with unique needs. We are committed to providing a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for our patients and staff. Patients and families are welcomed as essential members of the healthcare team, helping to ensure quality and safety.

Visiting restrictions/exclusions

Except when the patient chooses to restrict family and others, limitations on the presence of these individuals may be appropriate in exceptional circumstances, such as when:

  1. There is a legal reason that is documented in the chart (i.e.: restraining order or family court order).
  2. Their behavior creates a direct risk or threat to patients, families, staff, and others.
  3. They have a contagious illness or have had known exposure to a communicable disease.
  4. An infectious outbreak in the community or hospital.
  5. A patient in a shared room requires immediate lifesaving measures or a sensitive/private discussion needs to occur.
  6. Family or visitors who do not comply with infection control practices to protect our patients.
