Pharmacy Department
Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s Pharmacy Department is comprised of a team of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians who work together to provide safe, efficient medication distribution and clinical services to hospital patients.
Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians play key roles within the multidisciplinary team.
Pharmacists:
- Work with other healthcare team members to ensure patients receive optimal medication therapy in the hospital.
- Review medication orders for possible drug interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing.
- Counsel patients on medication use in the hospital and upon discharge.
- Provide drug information to physicians, healthcare professionals, and patients
Pharmacy Technicians:
- Work with patients and families on admission to determine an accurate list of what medications were being taken at home so that they can be continued in hospital
- Purchase and maintain drug inventory in all areas of the hospital.
- Prepare medication doses for patients
When you arrive at the hospital, please bring a list of your medications to help our Pharmacy Team determine the proper course of action.
Can I get my prescriptions filled at the hospital?
The hospital pharmacy provides medications to inpatients only. There are many pharmacies located nearby where you can get your prescriptions filled.
